Mom & me...

Last night my mom was over and a we were watching television. A commercial came on. As I watched it, I started laughing uncontrollably.

Mom didn't get it.

Since I have DVR going, I rewinded it.

Mom still didn't get it.

After the third time, I had to just explain it to her.

Generational issue? Probably not. But since she told me not to write about it on my blog...

very subtle.
if you decide to keep your garden pruned, this commercial offers many ideas. i didn't see a brazilian tree, however.

This also cracked me up, but I couldn't laugh too much because my young daughter was in the room. She wouldn't have "gotten" the joke, either. I have to say, where WAS the brazilian tree -- completely leafless? Definitely a generational thing. If you've ever checked out a Playboy, they'll very rarely feature a woman who is completely "natural" re: body hair. When they run the "remember this one from dickety-two" photo, you'll see women with "unpruned" hair -- sometimes under the arms, as well. Who on earth decided that women had to be hairless, trimmed, pruned, waxed, shaved, etc.? Was it women, or was it men? Anyway, the ad is funny. And I'm surprised nobody has complained about it yet. Probably too subtle for anybody who would complain. Pfffft
