Weekend Poll

I have not been blogging as much as usual for two reasons:
1) My job has been crazy buzy
2) I'm incredibly happy with my work and my life, I haven't had much to bitch about.

So I decided to do another poll. I know I'm in the minority when I say I love my job. My question is - what does it take to make you happy at your job?

you know what really matters to me ... it is the control - the control I have and am able to exercise - I like lots of it of course .... le

Interesting question. I put people I work with, but if the option had been there, I would have said short commute. I am huge on not spending my life traveling back and forth to work...

I'm happy for you that you are happy in your current position - a rarity recently (but I am happy at my current internship)!

Fun survey on a difficult topic.

This is a question for the ages. This has been studies lots and I think its much more complex than any one of these things.

I believe it tends be about having the right balance of control (or authority or autonomy) and responsibility and believing you are paid appropriately for what you are doing. Throw in knowing that those you work for recognize and will reward what you for your contributions... and having a best friend at work.

It's a magic brew that makes people truly happy at work. Now... figuring out how those mixes vary by generation... who knows?
